Conservation Practices

Throughout our farm you will find several different conservation practices in place. The manure management and sand recycling outlined are just two of the most noticeable practices we employ. In addition to those, we:

• plant and maintain waterways to allow rainwater to run without eroding the soil
• utilize minimum and no-till farming practices when appropriate
• utilize naturally ventilated barns to minimize electricity consumption
• conserve water by mindfully using only what is needed
• plant cover crops to prevent erosion and increase soil fertility
• research and implement best practice farm conservation methods
